Summer Camp near Montville, NJ

Located near Montville, Tamarack offers a range of programs tailored to children aged 3-15, focusing on their physical and developmental needs. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters skill development and essential life competencies. Through intentional programming, we aim to cultivate confidence, independence, and well-roundedness in each camper. At Tamarack, your child will not only learn new activities like swimming and baseball but also develop crucial life skills such as independence, confidence, teamwork, adaptability, determination, emotional intelligence, integrity, leadership, and resilience.

Our comprehensive Tamarack Experience includes central transportation, a nutritious lunch program, and a 37-acre facility equipped with amenities like a heated Olympic-size pool, Pro-turf sports complex, air-conditioned studios, skate park, ropes course, and zip lines. These facilities are designed to provide a backdrop of fun and adventure while nurturing important life skills.

3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)

At Tamarack, we offer tailored programs for our youngest campers in the Montville area, including 5-full-day, 3-full-day, and 5-half-day options within our Munchkin Division. We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to provide personalized attention. Our Munchkin Specialists are specially trained to work with 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, leading scaled-down athletic and creative activities that focus on developing motor skills. Additionally, our comprehensive swimming program ensures that every child acquires this crucial skill. Social development is a key component of our program, teaching children to interact respectfully and confidently in group settings. We also prioritize their nutritional needs with dedicated meal times and spaces, all within a nurturing and supportive environment.

3 5 Year Old Summer Camp Learn to Swim Near Montville

Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)

At Tamarack, our Explorer program in the Montville area evolves in alignment with the developmental stages of our campers. First graders are introduced to exciting features such as the Zipline and Giant Swing, along with activities like GAGA. Second graders have the freedom to choose from a range of weekly activities during the CHOICE period, including a Learn to Bike Program. Our Explorer participants engage in modified traditional sports, creative arts like ceramics and drama, and a comprehensive Learn-to-Swim Program in our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. They also have the opportunity to experience our inspected and certified ropes courses, commencing with the Confidence Course. Throughout this journey, Explorers develop their social and emotional intelligence, honing their collaborative and respectful skills within our nurturing environment.

1st and 2nd grade Summer Camp near Riverdale 1

Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)

At Tamarack, junior campers in the Montville area engage in a diverse range of creative and athletic activities, including twice-daily swims. They have the opportunity to explore advanced activities such as Archery, Mountain Biking, and High Ropes. Through the CHOICE program, junior campers can independently select their preferred activities to further develop their skills. Special events like Junior Late Nights provide extended camp access, additional activities, and twilight campfires. Juniors also participate in various sports on full-size fields, enhance their biking abilities through a comprehensive program, and nurture their creativity in air-conditioned art studios. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility supports their swimming progression, and the ropes course offers a variety of challenges. All activities are meticulously designed to promote social skills and teamwork in a bully-free environment.

3rd and 4th grade Summer Camp near Montville

Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)

Senior campers at Tamarack, located near Montville, engage in a diverse range of activities, including advanced sports like soccer, football, tennis, and lacrosse, as well as creative arts in air-conditioned studios encompassing ceramics, music, and culinary arts. They have access to specialized athletic and creative programs, prioritizing skill development and competitive gameplay. A significant highlight for many is the variety of day trips, with Camelbeach being a popular destination. Additionally, Senior Late Nights provide unique experiences, featuring dinner, extra activities, and twilight campfires.

Their schedule also includes swimming in a state-of-the-art aquatic facility with tailored swim lessons and free swim sessions. For the adventurous, the comprehensive ropes course offers opportunities for climbing, ziplining, and rappelling. Senior campers can also choose to participate in the annual Drama Production or special Dance routines, with performances being a prominent aspect of the camp experience. Throughout these activities, the primary focus is on fostering social skills, teamwork, and personal growth within a supportive and bully-free environment.

5th and 6th grade Summer Camp near Montville

Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)

At Tamarack, our 7th, 8th, and 9th graders participate in the exclusive Teen Travel Program, where they divide their time between invigorating day trips and camp-based activities. On days spent at camp, teens follow a structured group schedule that includes activities like free swim, Ropes Courses, and various athletic and creative pursuits, all overseen by our dedicated counselors.

During out-of-camp adventures, our teens adhere to rigorous Tamarack Travel Safety Protocols to ensure their safety. Both the Teen Travel campers and their parents must agree to our Teen Travel Behavior Contract to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all. A dedicated Division Head oversees the Teen Travel Programs within the camp and accompanies them on trips. Our Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public settings and address the unique challenges associated with the early teenage years. Social Development

At Oak Crest, camp counselors in the Montville area guide groups through team-building challenges and competitions to nurture qualities such as teamwork, support, and effective communication.
