To enhance the Tamarack Experience, we offer convenient central transportation and a comprehensive lunch program. Our 37-acre facility boasts impressive features like a heated Olympic-size pool, a Pro-turf sports complex, air-conditioned studios, a skate park, ropes course, and zip lines. These facilities are designed to provide an engaging and adventurous setting where campers can acquire these valuable life skills while having fun in a traditional day camp setting.
At Tamarack, we offer specialized programs for our youngest campers in the 07852 area, known as our Munchkin Division. We provide flexible options, including 5-full-day, 3-full-day, and 5-half-day sessions, ensuring a low camper-to-staff ratio to give each child the individualized attention they need. Our Munchkin Specialists are specifically trained to work with children aged 3, 4, and 5. They lead a wide range of age-appropriate athletic and creative activities, carefully designed to enhance motor skills development. Additionally, our comprehensive swimming program ensures that every child acquires this essential life skill.
In addition to physical and motor skill development, our Munchkin program places a strong emphasis on social development. We create a supportive and caring environment where children learn to interact respectfully and confidently in a group setting. Dedicated meal times and spaces are provided to cater to their nutritional needs, fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for our youngest campers.
At Tamarack, our Explorer program is designed to adapt and grow with your child. For 1st graders in the 07852 area, we introduce them to exciting adventures such as the Zipline and Giant Swing, along with engaging activities like GAGA. As 2nd graders join us, they have the freedom to choose their weekly activities during the CHOICE period, including participating in our Learn to Bike Program. Our Explorers also get to enjoy a diverse range of activities, including modified traditional sports, creative arts like ceramics and drama, and a comprehensive Learn-to-Swim Program held in our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. They can also experience the thrill of our ropes courses, starting with the Confidence Course.

These activities include twice-daily swims, as well as an introduction to more advanced pursuits such as Archery, Mountain Biking, and High Ropes.
What sets our Junior program apart is the CHOICE program, which empowers campers with the freedom to select their preferred activities. This not only allows them to explore their interests but also helps them develop and refine their skills in their chosen areas. Special events like Junior Late Nights provide extended camp access and additional activities, culminating in a memorable twilight campfire experience. On full-size fields, Juniors actively participate in various sports, while our comprehensive biking program further enhances their biking skills. Inside our air-conditioned art studios, creativity flows as campers engage in artistic pursuits. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility plays a pivotal role in supporting the progression of their swimming abilities, while the ropes course offers a diverse range of challenges that encourage personal growth and teamwork. These activities encompass advanced sports like soccer, football, tennis, and lacrosse, as well as creative arts such as ceramics, music, and cooking, all within comfortable, air-conditioned studios. What sets our Senior program apart is its focus on specialized athletic and creative programs that prioritize skill development and game play. Campers have the opportunity to enhance their abilities and enjoy immersive experiences. A highlight for many Senior campers is the variety of day trips offered, with Camelbeach being a popular destination. Additionally, Senior Late Nights provide unique evening experiences that include dinner, extra activities, and twilight campfires, creating lasting memories.
Our campers’ schedule also includes swimming sessions in our state-of-the-art aquatic facility, featuring tailored swim lessons and free swim time. For the adventurous spirits, our comprehensive ropes course offers thrilling activities like climbing, ziplining, and rappelling. Choices abound, including participation in the annual Drama Production or special Dance routines, where performances take center stage at the camp. Throughout their time at Tamarack, our Senior campers focus on developing essential social skills, teamwork, and personal growth, all nurtured within a supportive and bully-free environment.
At Tamarack, our exclusive Teen Travel Program is designed specifically for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders in the 07852 area. This program offers a balanced mix of exhilarating day trips and engaging camp activities to create a dynamic summer experience. On camp days, our Teens follow a structured group schedule that includes activities like free swim, Ropes Courses, and various athletic and creative pursuits, all of which are guided by our experienced counselors. When venturing out on day trips, our Teens are required to adhere to our stringent Tamarack Travel Safety Protocols, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. To further guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience, both Teen campers and their parents must agree to our Teen Travel Behavior Contract.
To provide additional support, a dedicated Division Head oversees the Teen Travel Programs within the camp and accompanies the Teens on their trips. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public settings and address the unique challenges that come with the early teenage years. Located near 07852, Oak Crest’s camp counselors play a vital role in guiding groups of campers through various team-building challenges and competitions. These activities are carefully designed to promote essential qualities like teamwork, support, and effective communication among campers.
In this structured environment, the emphasis is on creating a respectful atmosphere that encourages the formation of lifelong friendships. Oak Crest has a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, firmly committed to ensuring a nurturing and safe environment where children and young teens can grow and develop essential emotional and social skills.
Tamarack’s Leader-In-Training (LIT) Experience is designed for 10th graders living near 07852. It offers a dynamic program that equips them with crucial leadership skills and practical knowledge, preparing them for their first job, college, and beyond. This program acts as a pivotal transition from being a camper to becoming a counselor, with a strong focus on problem-solving, role modeling, and teamwork.
LITs take on substantial responsibilities and receive valuable constructive feedback, facilitating their growth into successful staff members. One significant component of the program is a thrilling 6-day leadership trip in partnership with Windsor Mountain. This trip emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and responsibility, pushing teens to step outside their comfort zones.
